Laura Vonella is from Westminster, Maryland, but her journey took her a lap around the world and back. Her story is one of transformation, and creative vision. With a quiet, powerful strength who has rebuilt herself more than once, whose journey embodies resilience, reinvention, and the courage to grow through every season of life.
Born with a spirit for adventure, the journey began when she married a Special Operations soldier and stepped into a life defined by sacrifice, uncertainty, and constant change. For 20 years, she traveled the world as a military spouse—learning to adapt, to stand steady through separations and unknowns, and to find her own identity in the spaces between each move. Those years shaped her into a woman who could carry both grace and grit, often at the same time. She embraced the challenges and opportunities of living around the world, growing through every new culture and experience.
After global living, Laura found herself in a moment of profound transition—one that invited reflection, healing, and rediscovery. In a beautiful twist of fate, after a pause of life she stepped into a new chapter on her 12-acre farm, where the rhythm of nature guides her days. As a dedicated beekeeper and founder of “Aunt Fancy's". A thriving, labor of love honey and bee-themed artisan business rooted in creativity and environmental stewardship. She blends craftsmanship with purpose, supporting vital pollinators while sharing handmade products at local festivals and community events.
From world traveler to grounded entrepreneur, Laura has learned to celebrate reinvention, cultivate beauty, and flourish within adversity.
Professionally, Laura is an accomplished innovative Graphic Designer, Entrepreneur, and established Creative Leader dedicated to turning artistic vision into real-world business success. In addition to her extensive leadership experience with over two decades of artistic drive and retail knowledge, she is known for her exceptional communication skills, ability to generate creative ideas, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Her entrepreneurial effort is complemented by a strong academic foundation, as she recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Art with a Graphic Design emphasis, along with minors in Entrepreneurship and Writing, graduating with department honors and the highest distinctions from McDaniel College. Her innovation was recognized in 2022 when she was named a runner-up in McDaniel’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Challenge. She is a member of multiple honor societies—including Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership), Sigma Tau Delta (International writing) and Sigma Alpha Pi (Leadership)—and has served in leadership roles throughout her academic and professional life.
Beyond her honors, Laura has built a thriving business rooted in craft, creativity, and community impact. Aunt Fancy’s honey and bee-themed products have been featured at notable events including the York Fair with her award-winning Habanero Honey—multiple events as a Keynote speaker. Her business was the dedication in the children’s book Bella Visits a Bee Farm by J.W. Zarek, and Team Meatcoma highlighted her Chili Honey during their journey to the World Food Championships (The food network). Highlighting her unique blend of creativity and craftsmanship. Laura personally directs all product creation, design, and advertising.
Known for her meticulous attention to detail and versatile creative skillset, Laura has contributed artistic work in diverse settings—from teaching stained glass at the East Berlin Community Center to designing a unit patch for the United States Army.
Laura Vonella is a model of initiative-taking professionalism, proving that dedication, a sharp creative eye, and a heart for service are the essential components of true success. Her knowledge base expands from photography, print, and graphics to painting, writing and a hands-on “jack of all trades”, especially in the art world. As well as programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Beyond her business and artistic achievements, her dedication extends Into humanitarian work as well. She has single-handedly raised $35,000 for charity, supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and maintains a certified Monarch Watch butterfly weigh station, demonstrating her use of creativity to uplift both her community and the environment.
Her story is not simply about success—It is about rediscovering yourself after life changes you. It is about listening to the whispers, “There is more for you.” and allowing yourself to bloom again. Today, Laura stands as a reminder that resilience is not loud. It is quiet and steady.
Post college she is now on the hunt to fill that time missing with a career that she can submerge into and create passion. One she can love as much as Aunt Fancy’s. She is still a lover of adventure and traveling while pushing to expand Aunt Fancy’s every year within her capabilities and looks to the future with non-profit goals. On the slower days she enjoys a good movie or book with a snuggle from her cat “Moo”. On the busy days enjoys the nostalgia of a 90’s beat. She is also a self proclaimed excellent pie maker.
Her life reflects a powerful message: that every woman has the ability to transform her story, embrace new beginnings, and create beauty—no matter where the journey leads.
